Paranormal Women’s Fiction was that genre I didn’t know I needed until some fanfreakingtastic authors came around and created it. Ever since then I have been devouring PWF series like crazy. When Deborah Wilde announced that she was launching a new PWF series, I was bouncing out of my seat excited. And let me tell you what, she did. Not. Disappoint. Fans of Shannon Mayer’s, K.F. Breene’s, Robin Peterman’s, and Darynda Jones’s PWF series will absolutely love Miriam as their latest midlife heroine who takes no crap and makes zero excuses.In keeping with her usual skill, Wilde expertly weaves Jewish lore throughout a plot line that leaves the reader on the edge of their seat, while laughing out loud at that times, and also nodding and going “yaaaaasss queen” during relatable moments. And boy are there relatable moments. Miri and her crew are some down-to-earth, snarky, real characters that you will want to get to know more. And Laurent. Let’s just say sexy werewolf cradling a kitten. Need I say more?Buy the book. You won’t regret it. This may be my new favorite PWF series and there are some serious contenders out there. This is an okay story. Interesting idea. But doesn't flow well. It was like reading about two different characters. What comes out of the main characters mouth doesn't match her inner monologue. At the beginning she is shown as level headed, professional, keeping her cool while dealing with a complete jerk, then she spews word vomit for most of the rest of the book. Her choice at the end went against everything she had thought and worried about throughout the story. There was also a formatting issue? There was a lack of separation a few times in the story. Most books have a few blank lines to separate days, etc. if there isn't a new chapter starting, but this one just dramatically shifts from one paragraph to the next. I had to stop and reread to make sure I hadn't missed something. Not a big deal just annoying. Its not a bad read, not a great read, just ok.
